Good Trees

“every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
(Matthew 7:17)
As a farmer expects a good crop so God expects our lifestyles to produce good fruit.”

And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
(Job 42:10)
Job was a man who had lost everything including his wealth, his home, his family and even his own health. In suffering such great affliction Job was justified in asking for prayer for his own problems but the Lord restored Job’s losses AFTER he prayed for others. It’s easy to pray for our own needs but God’s abundant blessings are released when we consider first the needs of others.

And the disciples were continually filled [throughout their souls] with joy and the Holy Spirit. (Acts 13:52)
The central motivation for many people in this world is to obtain personal pleasure. Followers of Christ are continually filled with joy being certain of their eternal treasure.

Turn to Me

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
(Joel 2:12 NKJV)
The death of a loved one stimulates a period of grieving in which a person will lose all interest in food and personal appearance. When we truly surrender all of our hearts to the Lord the physical pleasures and values of this world grow strangely dim.

Finally I Surrender

give me your heart,
And let your eyes observe my ways. (Proverbs 23:26)
Only after we finally surrender all of our heart’s desires to the Lord will our eyes observe Him intervening in the details of our daily activities working with us on our behalf.

Walk in Light

Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”
(John 11:9, 10)
When light enters the darkness flees. Jesus came to expose the darkness of our hearts with the light of His truth showing us the danger of falling into sin.

Something or Nothing

(Jesus said) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
(John 15:5)
The word nothing means something that is nonexistent or of no importance. We all get out of bed each new day with plans to do something. That something that we do will be reduced to nothing without any eternal significance if it has no connection to King Jesus.

Rapid Deliverance

Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.
(Acts 12:7)
Only the Lord can illuminate our desperate situations provoking us to move rapidly towards His miraculous deliverance from the chains of our circumstances.

What Really Matters

“I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return.
(Phil 1:9)
What really matters is that God loves you!”

“Jesus said: go down to the lake and throw in a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch, and you will find a large silver coin.
If we have faith to obey the Lord’s instruction He is able to provide all of our needs even in the most unusual ways.”
