And He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand has He hid me and made me a polished arrow; in His quiver has He kept me close and concealed me. And [the Lord] said to me, You are My servant
(Isaiah 49:2 AMP)
The arrow is kept securely stored in a dark quiver waiting until it is needed. The warrior suddenly removes the arrow and brings it to daylight placing it in the bow to be launched at the intended target. We may feel like our lives our on hold in the shadows, seemingly forgotten by the Lord but like a concealed weapon He holds us close to Himself waiting for the right opportunity. This waiting period is used to build our patience and faith in God. Suddenly we find ourselves quickly taken from the darkness of our circumstances to the glorious light of God’s destiny launched forward to an entirely new dimension of life in service for the Lord. The Lord is a warrior and He uses His servants as arrows in His bow.
