The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
(Mark 4:37-40 NLT)
The disciples doubted their ability to arrive safely to their destination on the other side of the lake even with the very presence of the Lord Jesus with them. Jesus responded to their doubt by speaking to the storm to take authority over it. Jesus arose from deep within the boat and calmed the storm. Jesus resides deep within our spirit and when we awaken Him with prayer He rises to the level of our conscience intellect to calm the storms of anxious thoughts. The Lord has a specific destiny planned for every one of our lives. We use our physical bodies as vessels to cross over to the other side of life’s lake into eternity. To arrive safely we must activate our faith by taking authority of the fierce storms of our situations and speak the promises of God’s word without doubting.
