Step Out @
Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
(Matthew 14:28-31 NLT)
The Lord tests our faith by calling us to take a step in the direction of the impossible which will defy the laws set in the natural realm. The waves of doubt and the winds of fear represent obstacles for the power of God working in unbelievable ways in our lives. Faith is a step towards our uncertainty. In the natural realm Peter as a fisherman was familiar being within the safety of his boat. In the spiritual realm of faith Peter stepped out of what was normal and natural by the world’s standards. We like to live in the comfort and security of the intellect letting human reasoning or logic govern our every decision but faith gives freedom to the spirit of man to step out into the supernatural depending 100% on the power of God.
