When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
(Isaiah 43:2, 3 NLT)

When life’s difficulties come the first reaction is usually to question God and ask why is this happening to me? The best lesson is the living lesson because we learn more by personal experience. Everyone needs to go through the fires of adversity to fully appreciate the Lord’s miraculous deliverance. The Bible uses the word “when” and not “if” indicating that everyone will feel the heat of oppression at some point in their life. We may only see the burning flames around us but “our God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:29 NKJV) and His presence is with us in the midst of the blaze.
