Wash and make yourselves clean.
Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
stop doing wrong. “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
(Isaiah 1:16, 18 NIV)

Everyone wants to look good. We spend much time and effort fitting and matching clothes to wear. When our clothing becomes soiled with even a small visible stain our immediate reaction is to attempt to remove the discoloration or change into something clean. We value our external appearance because we want to look presentable in public. How much more should we value our eternal appearance as seen through the eyes of our Creator God? Our souls became stained when we sin. The sacrificial blood of Jesus is the stain remover that washes away all of our sins so that we may present ourselves stainless and blameless before the Living God.
