When we arrived in Rome, Paul was permitted to have his own private lodging, though he was guarded by a soldier.
(Acts 28:16 NLT)

The Apostle Paul was placed under guarded house arrest in Rome for two years as he awaited trial for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His activities were restricted by four walls but he was able to minister to the needs of the churches using letters which he was free to write. During this time God inspired Paul to write four books of the New Testament which have benefited thousands of believers through the centuries. When we feel cornered by the walls of life’s circumstances that restrict our freedom to move remember that God is still in control and even the walls become a blessing for His sovereign purposes.
