Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. “Take away the stone,” he said.
(John 11:38 NIV84)

One of the greatest miracles recorded in the Bible was when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Jesus had the power to raise the dead but interestingly He still used men to remove the grave stone. The Lord chooses to partner with humans to first remove obstacles which limit the miraculous. The people who obeyed Jesus to remove the stone had faith in His power and hoped to see Lazarus the one they loved alive again. The Bible says that “these three remain: faith, hope and love.”(1 Corinthians 13:13) When we obey the Lord’s directions in faith with the hope of Him intervening in our desperate circumstances then we will see the miraculous but our motive should be love.
