“Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”
(Ephesians 5:14 NLT)

Sleeping adolescents can be difficult to wake. After calling their name without any response it may be necessary to pinch them, shake them or even drag them out of bed. Parents are not trying to harm their children they just want to get their eyes open and ready for a new day. Historically the United States of America has been known as “one nation under God” but now this nation has become “one nation without need of God.” The slip into the spiritual slumber of complacent morality has consequences. Over the next few years the United States will experience disasters of progressive magnitude and near economic collapse. This national shaking will result in a spiritual awakening. God our Father has promised “if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14) When we open our spiritual eyes and repent we see the light of Christ for the start of our new day. The shake up wakes us up.
