We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
(2 Corinthians 5:20 NIV84)

The headlines of the newspaper recently read; “US Ambassador killed in Libya: chased to his death by a mob in the country he helped save.” A total of seven US Ambassadors have been killed in the line of duty in the history of America. An ambassador is a representative or authorized messenger of the highest rank sent by a government to represent it on a temporary mission such as for negotiating a treaty. The Lord also sends the world authorized messengers representing His kingdom to negotiate a plan for humanity to save them but many do not agree with the terms. “God said, ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them. They will kill some, and they will treat others cruelly.’”(Luke 11:49) Persecuting the messengers does not change the message. The messengers may change but the mission remains. The Lord in His mercy continues to send His ambassadors to speak on His behalf. Repent and be reconciled to God.
