Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6, 7 NLT)

One of the root causes of high blood pressure is interpersonal conflict. Modern researchers have identified that conflict in relationships increases anxiety and cardiovascular reactivity setting the stage for a heart attack or stroke. Belief in the promises of God gives us peace in the midst of conflict. God’s peace protects both our mental and physical health. Anxious thoughts are discarded and replaced with God’s promises which decreases the sympathetic-adrenal reactivity of the cardiovascular system to reduce blood pressure. Knowledge of God’s promises re-establishes the peaceful atmosphere that He had intended for humanity when He created us. God’s peace is without pressure.
