For God speaks again and again, though people do not recognize it. He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds. He whispers in their ears and terrifies them with warnings. He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride. He protects them from the grave, from crossing over the river of death.
(Job 33:14-18 NLT)

Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone who is distracted by other activities? Their thoughts are divided between texting various people, surfing the internet, and playing video games on their mobile devices. To top it all off they are listening to music with ear phones. Frustrated you give up competing with the electronics and walk away because they are just not paying attention to what you are saying. Developing a relationship requires some effort to listen and establish a dialogue. We have a personal God who is actually interested in developing a relationship with His people. All day long the Lord attempts to establish a dialogue deep within our thoughts but due to the noise of the surrounding meaningless activities we fail to recognize His still small voice. When we pray we speak to God and when we read the Bible God speaks to us through His Word. Hey, God is speaking to you right now. Be still and listen. Be quiet and learn.
