“Jesus came toward them, walking on the water. Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.”
(Matthew 14:25, 28, 29 NLT)

Everyone has made wrong choices and so often people dwell on previous failures but living in the guilt of yesterday’s mistakes steals today’s peace. If we confess our sins the Lord Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Our sins are forgiven and forgotten. The Lord says that he “will trample our sins underfoot and send them to the bottom of the sea!” (Micah 7:19) The Lord Jesus came walking on the water of the Sea of Galilee towards his disciples and encouraged Peter to follow his example. Jesus has conquered the sea of humanity’s sin and walks on the water above them in victory. Jesus calls us to do the same by placing our past sins underfoot to walk above the depths of guilt in victory. Thanks to the blood of Jesus guilty me can walk guilt free!
