“After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”
(Acts 4:31 NLT)

If you have ever experienced the misery of an upper respiratory tract infection you would be well aware of the relationship of speaking and breathing. When the lungs and sinuses are congested it is difficult to breath. Obstructed breathing makes it very challenging to even speak a few words. A word requires a breath. Without air flowing over our vocal flaps there is no sound and so wherever there is a word there must also be a breath. In the Bible the Spirit of God is also referred to as the breath of God. (Job 33:4) The Spirit of God is always present with the Word of God. To effectively speak the Word of God we must be filled with the Spirit of God. What fills us flows out from us.
