“And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day. Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites. These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.”
(1 Corinthians 10:8, 9, 11 NLT)

According to American Health magazine, by age 19, 75 percent of unmarried women have had or are having sexual intercourse. The sexual promiscuity of men would indicate at least a similar percentage for them. If we knew that there was a poisonous snake under the covers we would definitely not crawl into bed. Sexual immorality injects its venom in the night. The bite is deadly causing sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies and emotional scars. The after affects are shame, guilt and regret. The eternal consequences are even worse. “He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.” (Proverbs 5:23) Leave the bed and don’t get bit.
