“Let us lift our hearts and hands To God in heaven.”
(Lamentations 3:41 NKJV)

Watching a live sporting event is an exciting experience especially when the fans are enthusiastic about the game. I was at a university football game recently and watched the cheering crowd celebrate the home team as they scored a touchdown. The fans were on their feet jumping with arms raised high. Sadly there is more praise on an athletic field during a sports competition that has no eternal significance than to the Lord who created the arms that we raise. Fans lift up their hands to support athletic heroes that they will never meet and lift up nothing but curses to King Jesus unto whom one day every knee shall bow.(Rom 14:11) We lift up our hands for the purpose of loving our Savior who rescued us from a life without purpose. If we publicly acknowledge the Lord of glory we shall see his glory.
