“The God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
(2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 NIV)

After a long and busy week a Sunday afternoon nap is very welcome. It is a nice feeling to rest on a comfortable sofa surrounded by pillows. What makes a sofa comfortable is the cushions. If the undersurface of a sofa was not hard there would be no need of cushions. In life everyone goes through some hard times. Financial difficulties, relationship conflicts or health problems at some point can make us very uncomfortable. Troubles are a part of life making existence on earth painfully hard but if there were no troubles then we would not require the comfort of God’s holy Word to cushion our burdens. We first receive comfort ourselves so we can be a cushion to comfort others.
