“I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. “But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’”
(Luke 12:18, 20 NLT)

The business news is filled with investment strategies to become financially independent. Many people purchase stocks, bonds, commodities, and real estate to get rich. They strive to accumulate wealth on the earth in an effort to establish security for their future but true freedom is putting our trust in the Lord. Money devaluates and assets depreciate but only God’s benefits will last. Knowing the Lord guarantees our eternal security for “a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” (Luke 12:21) Life is not measured by how much we own but by how much we are known by the Lord who gave us life.
