“Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.”
(Exodus 7:7 NKJV)

Many people live their lives in mediocrity going about the daily routine like robots. Deep inside there may be a hope to fulfill a greater purpose but there never seems to be any breakthroughs. In the Bible there was a man named Moses who struggled with finding his purpose in life. He was educated as a young man with the best available training in Egyptian royalty. He attempted to liberate the Israelites from Pharaohs oppressive regime in his own strength but failed miserably and had to flee into the wilderness where he lived a mundane existence tending sheep for 40 years. At the age of 80 God broke into his life and commissioned him to deliver the Israelites from Pharaohs hand using God’s miraculous power. Sometimes the Lord purposely calls us years in advance for his service. The long passage of time humbly weakens our physical abilities but invigorates our spiritual strength as we wait patiently on the Lord in faith. Just when we think that God has forgotten his promises he breaks into our mundane routine with power. After weakening our own self sufficiency he receives all the glory for his timeless victory.
