“For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’”
(Isaiah 41:13 NKJV)

I remember my first day of kindergarten clearly. It was the first time I was without my parents. What stands out in my mind the most was that there was another child crying his eyes out the entire day screaming for his mother. The child was experiencing separation anxiety from his parents. Unfamiliar territory can create fear in the heart of a child. Upon hearing the child’s distress a loving family member relieves their anxiety by coming close to hold their hand. God loves us as a perfect father and does not want us to be afraid. As believers in Christ we become children of the Living God (Romans 9:26) and although life’s fearful circumstances will come the God of peace is close enough to hold our hand.
