“The next day, as gale-force winds continued to batter the ship, the crew began throwing the cargo overboard. The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone.”
(Acts 27:18, 20 NLT)

Severe storms can cause darkness and power outages but there are some good things that can happen in the darkness of a storm. When the the electrical power fails from bad weather suddenly busy agendas and distractions stop resulting in an opportunity to talk with a loved one. Life will always have the dark storms of circumstance which drain our energy supply. When we cannot see where we are going and the fatigue of personal power failure sets in there is a temptation to give up hope but storms push us to dialogue with the Lord in prayer. There is hope in our storm when we take time to talk with the only One who can calm the sea.
