“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
(Galatians 5:22, 23 NLT)

I was hiking a long a beach trail on a very hot day when I started to feel fatigued. Then I noticed a group of sea grapes ripe and ready to eat. I stopped to devour as much of the refreshing fruit as I needed to satisfy my thirst before carrying on my journey. Whenever we exercise for extended periods of time in the heat there is always the risk of heat exhaustion from dehydration and loss of electrolytes. Symptoms of heat exhaustion can include weakness, headache, dizziness, muscle cramps, nausea and vomiting. To prevent heat exhaustion, fluids should be replaced every 20 minutes with 8 oz of water or preferably fruit juice during exercise. The Lord blessed me with the sea grapes to replace some electrolytes which I lost during my beach trail hike and I was refreshed to continue my journey. This experience reminds me of how the Lord often places Christians along our life’s journey bearing the fruit of the Spirit. These servants of God bless us with the spiritual fruit that refreshes us to continue for another day.
