“Whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.” -Jesus
John 6:57

Imagine going to your favorite restaurant to enjoy a meal. You take your time surveying the food choices on the menu and select your order. Your delicious hot meal finally arrives and smells fantastic. Before eating you decide to wash your hands in the restroom but when you return to your complete disappointment someone had taken your food and devoured it. Hungry and very dissatisfied you leave the restaurant. This may seem unlikely but spiritually this happens every day. Jesus told the parable of a farmer who went out to sow seed but some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Jesus explained that when anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. (Matthew 13:4,19) If we make no effort to understand what good spiritual fruit the Lord is trying to grow in our lives we will end up feeling spiritually hungry and without purpose living an unfulfilled life. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6)
