The Performance of a Lifetime!

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
(Hebrews 13:15 NIV)

An instrument closed inside a dark case brings pleasure to no one. The performing artist opens the case and plays their song for the benefit
of others. An ungrateful soul bound in the darkness of unthankfulness does not please the Lord. With our life’s performance we have been set free to offer praises openly to our Savior King Jesus.

The Heart For Change

Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
(Psalms 96:9 NKJV)

Feelings create the atmosphere for change and this world needs to be changed for King Jesus. We worship the Lord openly and we will not be ashamed to express the emotions of our hearts for Him to receive all the glory!

Thanksgiving Praise

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
(Psalms 100:4 NKJV)

Nobody wants to be around someone who is complaining all the time, lying, saying nasty things and filled with perverse speech or thoughts. We could never expect to speak to the Queen of England inside Buckingham Palace without using the proper etiquette. Thanksgiving and praise gives us permission to enter into the presence of royalty. God does not want to be around someone who practices a sinful lifestyle. Having the correct attitude gets us closer to the Lord. We repent for our sins and trust Jesus to wash away the unrighteousness so we can enter into the presence of God. A continuous attitude of thanksgiving and praise coming from our hearts gets us closer to God. Thanksgiving and praises be to You Lord forever!

Birds of Praise

Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
(Psalms 100:1 NLT)

When someone does a good job we thank them in public so that others may recognize their performance. We draw attention and recognize the Lord with public praise so that everyone will hear. God desires the worship of all peoples and nations of the earth.
Loyal subjects give a joyful shout when their king appears among them. We get people excited for King Jesus by our own actions and attitudes. The song birds sing their praises at each new dawn. Make noise for God but do it from your heart with your emotions.

Multicultural Devotion

“I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.”
(Revelation 7:9 NLT)

Multicultural churches are growing everywhere. Christians can worship the only true living God united together as one without national or racial prejudice. The Lord is preparing His people on earth for the great multicultural assemblies of heaven. The people will no longer be focused on the one standing beside them but their devotion will be for the One they are standing before. “Praise the LORD, all you nations. Praise him, all you people of the earth.” (Psalm 117:1)

Musical Prayers

Unseal my lips, O Lord,
that my mouth may praise you.
(Psalm 51:15 NLT)
In the Bible psalms of lament are the most common type of musical genre. These psalms agonize over a situation and ask the Lord for help. The modern day country and western genre is a form of lament but without confessing the solution to life’s problems through trusting in God. There is nothing new under the sun today as people are afraid of their situations prompting them to cry out to God for help. Usually a psalm of lament starts out singing a problem and ends by transferring the problem into the hands of the Lord who is the only solution. If we find ourselves in a mess filled with doubt we sing our prayers out.

Sing Your Song!

“be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
(Ephesians 5:18, 19 NLT)
The Bible contains many different genres of music all to worship the Lord. There are praise songs, war songs, victory songs, love songs, thanksgiving songs, festive songs of celebration, songs of lament, songs of wisdom and songs of repentance. The Bible has a song for every occasion in life so no matter what our day may bring let out a breath and sing.

A New Song

He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.
(Psalm 40:3 NKJV)
The Bible is filled with songs mostly written in the book of Psalms. Poetry in the form of a song more adequately expresses emotions, deep faith and worship. God expects us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and body. The intellect writes the lyrics to a new song, the heart/soul sings it and the physical body dances to the music all in celebration of the One who gave us life.

The Secret Place

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
(Psalm 91:1 NKJV)
Dwelling in the secret place of the Most High is living submerged in uninterrupted prayer and worship of the Living God. This communion protects us from all enemies and shelters us in times of trouble. Residing in the intimate fellowship with our Creator becomes a refuge to deliver us in victory from every evil scheme. Here in this place the truth of God’s Word is revealed giving us courage without fear. A long and satisfying life with honor and promotion comes from abiding in Him. It is in the secret place we find our resting place of salvation in Jesus Christ for eternal life.

Every Breath

Let everything that has breath and
every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
(Psalm 150:6 AMP)
God breathed the very first breath of life in man as the Bible says the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7 NKJV)
All we can do is breath back to God what was already His by giving praise, worship and thanksgiving to our Creator. Therefore let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. (Hebrews 13:15 NKJV)
God desires this fruit from all of His creation.
